(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 North Coast Fantasy Football League intra-divisional matchup, *CONN-RAT squeaked by a tough *Naked Tailgaters team by a score of 101.75 to 92.95, behind the support of 72,378 faithful fans.
*CONN-RAT were led to their 8.80 point victory by a 34.80 point effort from DeAngelo Williams, who beat the New York Giants defense for 108 rushing yards and 4 rushing tds. With this performance, Williams was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 16.80 point effort from Larry Johnson, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 108 rushing yards and 1 rushing td. "We snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat," *CONN-RAT coach Brian Kolm said. *Naked Tailgaters were helped out in a losing cause by a 25.95 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 331 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 14 rushing yards. They also got help from a 14.70 point effort from Randy Moss, who got by the Arizona Cardinals defense for 87 receiving yards and 1 receiving td. "We came up a little short," *Naked Tailgaters coach Bryan Hammer said. Compounding the issue, *Naked Tailgaters could have scored 101.85 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Bryan Hammer left key players like Ricky Williams and his corresponding 14.40 points on the bench. *Naked Tailgaters drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 8 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for *CONN-RAT to 8-7, and drops *Naked Tailgaters to a record of 6-9. | ||
