Gridiron Momma (71.5) at Jaffola 2009 (68.3)

(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 28, 2009) In a week 16 Jim Brown battle, Gridiron Momma squeaked by a tough Jaffola 2009 team by a score of 71.5 to 68.3, silencing a partisan crowd of 69,792.

Gridiron Momma were led to their 3.2 point victory by a 20.8 point effort from Jerome Harrison, who beat the Oakland Raiders defense for 148 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD. They also got help from a 15.9 point effort from Drew Brees, who got by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 258 passing yards and 1 passing TD.

"They gave us a big scare," Gridiron Momma coach Julie Weigand said.

Jaffola 2009 were helped out in a losing cause by a 16.4 point effort from Eli Manning, who got by the Carolina Panthers defense for 296 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 6 rushing yards. They also got help from a 14.0 point effort from Cedric Benson, who beat the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 133 rushing yards in addition to 7 receiving yards.

"Our defense didn't show up today," Jaffola 2009 coach Lynne Jaffe said.

Compounding the issue, Jaffola 2009 could have scored 87.2 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Lynne Jaffe left key players like Lex Hilliard and his corresponding 20.6 points on the bench.

Gridiron Momma took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 9 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16.

This brings the record for Gridiron Momma to 7-6, and drops Jaffola 2009 to a record of 8-5.
