(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 26, 2011) In a week 16 Ultimate Pyramid FFL - Don Shula League intra-divisional rivalry, El Guapo squeaked by a tough The Darkwing Ducks team by a score of 97.15 to 90.40, silencing a partisan crowd of 69,412.
El Guapo were led to their 6.75 point victory by a 33.05 point effort from Cam Newton, who snuck past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 171 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 65 rushing yards. With this performance, Newton was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 10.40 point effort from Dez Bryant, who snuck past the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 62 receiving yards.
"Our fans were the 12th man today," El Guapo coach Scott Sacks said.
The Darkwing Ducks were helped out in a losing cause by a 32.90 point effort from Tom Brady, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 304 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 17 rushing yards. With this performance, Brady was the number 3 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 20.40 point effort from Roddy White, who beat the New Orleans Saints defense for 127 receiving yards.
"We don't care about moral victories," The Darkwing Ducks coach Alex Hardin said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Darkwing Ducks could have scored 106.60 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Alex Hardin left key players like Jonathan Stewart and his corresponding 16.30 points on the bench.
This brings the record for El Guapo to 10-3, and drops The Darkwing Ducks to a record of 6-7.
